Brown Recluse Spider

Freelance texture done for an indie company. The spider was eventually animated and used in a short film with the goal of hyper realism. 

I was given the spider model to layout Uv's and texture the model. Materials were hand-painted in Substance Painter to capture the unique patterns of recluse spiders. After getting feedback, I was asked to add subsurface scattering which was pretty new to me. However, after some adjustments I was able to accomplish the look they were going for.
